For over a 100 years ASME has certified companies in the industrial sector to build pressure vessels and components that observe the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (B&PV Code). The ASME B&PV Code establishes rules governing the design, fabrication, and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels, during construction. The ASME certification mark is regarded as the hallmark of acceptance and certification and is used to signify that a stamped item conforms to the latest edition of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes.
Every three years Thielsch Engineering, Inc. undergoes an extensive audit of our ASME Quality Control System implementation to receive reauthorization of our ASME PP, S, and U Stamps and our National Board R Stamp. The PP Stamp is our authorization for the fabrication and assembly of pressure piping both at our manufacturing facility and in the field. The S Stamp is our approval to manufacture and assemble power boilers both at our manufacturing facility and in the field. The U Stamp authorizes us to manufacture pressure vessels, by the applicable rules of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII Division 1. With this stamp, we are authorized to manufacture pressure vessels both at our facility in Cranston, Rhode Island and in the field. The National Board R Stamp permits us to perform metallic repairs and alterations of pressure vessels, at our Rhode Island facility or in the field.
The re-authorization audit takes place before the expiration of the current certificates. For Thielsch Engineering this meant the audit occurred shortly before the 2016 Christmas holidays. Bruce Maclure, the Senior QA Manager at Thielsch Engineering, Inc., was our audit representative. Bruce has overseen our ASME audits for almost 30 years and is extensively involved in design, fabrication and welding activities at Thielsch Engineering, Inc.
The Management at Thielsch Engineering, Inc. would like to congratulate our engineering and manufacturing teams for continuing to implement our ASME Quality System correctly and for passing yet another triennial audit without deficiencies. We at Thielsch Engineering, Inc. consider ourselves to be Industry Experts in Pressure Technologies.
